BS4 TVS Victor
You know that India became a BS6 country last month, yes? The new emission norms came into effect here on 1 April 2020, which means one can not sell or buy BS 4 vehicles anymore. Anyway, the transition was a long time coming, i.e. automakers and the rest of the country knew of the transition well in advance, allowing them to upgrade their respective portfolios. However, there are some companies that still have a product or two that is yet to switch to BS6, such as TVS. The two-wheeler manufacturer has upgraded pretty much its entire line-up, save for the TVS Victor and TVS Scooty Zest 110. And word has it, that the company is on the verge of completing the transition, i.e. BS6 TVS Victor and Scooty Zest’s launch in India is round the corner.
Unfortunately, TVS has been rather quiet about the impending arrival of the BS6 TVS Victor 110. But when you consider everything, it is easy to understand why it won’t be too long before the BS6 TVS bikes is launched in India. What’s the first concern? Engine. The Victor uses a 110 cc engine and TVS already has a BS6-compliant iteration of the motor. In case you forgot, it powers several other TVS bikes in India, including the Sport, Radeon, Star City+. So, the TVS Victor BS6 will also make use of the same 109.7 cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine that generates a maximum power of 8 bhp at 7,350 rpm with a torque of 8.7 Nm at 4,500 rpm.
So, that is one non-issue issue resolved. Second factor is that the markets are opening once again, which is why several automakers in India have already lined up new launches. It would, then, make sense to assume that TVS too will bring in the BS6 Victor 110. Another reason why this would make even more sense is that owing to the corona virus pandemic, more and more people will now opt for personal vehicles, including two-wheelers. And since affordability will continue to be a big consideration, the market would be just ripe for the BS6 TVS Victor’s India launch.
Anyway, when the bike does finally arrive in India, we believe it will also get a handful of styling-related changes, besides the updated engine, of course. And as for the new TVS Victor 110 BS6’s price in India, expect it to go up marginally as compared to the BS4 model’s price range.
