Police arrested a Minnesota man Wednesday night on several charges after he shot a gun inside an apartment, left the scene in a stolen vehicle and crashed the vehicle down the road, authorities say.
Officers responded to a report of a weapons violation around 11 p.m. Wednesday on the 1900 block of East Rice Street, said spokesman Sam Clemens.

A group of people were drinking together at the apartment, Clemens said. They drove to a nearby gas station, where an argument broke out among the group. One man, Leroy Anthony Chief, took the vehicle and drove back to the apartment with another person, where the group later found two television sets damaged by gun shots. The person told the other members of the group that Chief had driven away after the incident, Clemens said.
Police found Chief, 21, from Na-ta-waush, Minnesota when they responded to a car crash around the same time near Rice Street and Weber Avenue when he failed to negotiate a turn and crashed the vehicle, Clemens said.
Chief was arrested on several charges including burglary, intentional damage to property, reckless driving, DUI, driving without a drivers license, reckless discharge of a firearm, possession of a firearm while intoxicated and possession of a stolen vehicle.
The vehicle was stolen out of Minnesota, Clemens said.
