MUMBAI: Police are being given antimalarial hydroxychloroquine sulphate (HCQS) tablets as a preventive dose against Covid-19. After doctors and other health workers, policemen are at the frontline in the fight against the virus.
Police commissioner Parambir Singh said, “My force has started taking the HCQS dose under the guidance of Dr Sanjay Kapote of Apollo Clinic, Colaba.” He added that only those at the frontline were getting the medicines.
Dr Kapote told TOI that 5,000 tablets have been given to policemen in the city.
