LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The city of Lexington says it is having issues with some of its phone lines.

Administrative, non-emergency phone lines for the Lexington Police Department and Lexington Fire Department are not working consistently, according to city officials.

It says 911 is working for emergency calls.

The city says it has ordered replacement parts to permanently fix the administrative numbers – (859) 258-3600 and (859) 231-5600.

Technicians are scheduled to put the new parts in place on Tuesday, February 12.

City officials say until then, access through (859) 258-3600 and (859) 231-5600 will be inconsistent.

Two alternative numbers for non-emergency calls to police and fire are available now: (859) 258-3601 or (859) 258-3602.

Citizens may also call LexCall 3-1-1 (425-2255).

In an emergency. continue to use 911.
