As per the latest report from Counterpoint Research, Apple captured the maximum chunk of the Indian hearables market with a 27% market share in 2019. The report claims that the Cupertino-based tech giant could dominate the Indian market due to “…factors like its reputation as a pioneer, noise-cancelling feature, easy integration with Apple devices and quick charging…”
After the AirPods, the second-highest selling truly wireless headphones in India were the Realme Buds Air, as per the report. The company only has one product in this category that was launched in December 2019 and helped the company land the fifth position in the overall market.
After Apple, audio brand Noise has the second-highest market share in India of 12% for the year 2019. Noise’s Shots X1 Air and X5 also among the top-five best-selling TWS models in 2019.
JBL and Samsung ranked at the third and fourth position respectively, with an 8% and 7% market share in 2019.
Giving an overall insight into the market of truly wireless headphones in India, the Counterpoint Research claimed that the market has witnessed a 700% growth in 2019, making it the fastest-growing market in wearables category.
Commenting on the growth of TWS market, Research Analyst Shilpi Jain, said, “The availability of many affordable devices by players like Realme, Xiaomi and Noise immediately caught consumers’ attention with their audio quality and ease of use. As the India market remains largely untapped for TWS, the segment holds huge growth potential and opportunities for new players.”
