Check out last weekend’s edition of UPFRONT Inside Atlanta’s Entertainment Industry. It features my red carpet interviews from the Super Bowl Gospel Celebration which aired recently on BET. I got a chance to chat briefly with a number of the show’s performers and presenters including gospel greats: Kirk Franklin and Tasha Cobbs-Leonard, newcomer Koryn Hawthorne and Greenleaf star Deborah Joy Winans.
UPFRONT also talked to Taraji P. Henson about her new film What Men Want which opens in theaters this weekend. The film is a new version of the Mel Gibson classic What Women Want and was produced by Will Packer and James Lopez. It also stars Tracy Morgan and Erykah Badu.
Closing out UPFRONT was my conversation with The Local Take’s Kiplyn Primus. She opens up about PNC Bank’s Black History Month Salute to Atlanta’s Art and Entertainment Icons such as Kathleen Bertrand’s BronzeLens Film Festival, visual artist Dr. Fahamu Pecou, playwright and author Pearl Cleage and artstic director of Kenny Leon’s True Colors Theatre Company Jamil Jude. We also premiered the PNC Bank Black History Month Vignettes and more.
UPFRONT airs every Saturday morning at 9 a.m. and is hosted by Ray Cornelius.
